I have a Yorkie and I bath her once or twice a week. I need a shampoo that doesn't dry too much. She has this habit to play with her poop and she ends up stinking like a poo often that's why the frequent washing.
I try not to bath her more then once a week but if she gets into mess then I have to. What is your recommendation as for shampoo and conditioner I should use.Do you recommend any particular brand of shampoo and conditioner for long haired dog coat?
Hi, I breed and show Afghan Hounds, lots of long silky hair!
I found a line of products years ago that I just love, use them in my grooming shop and on my Afghans.
Espree is the company name, www.espree.com
If you are bathing weekly you will want to get their Oatmeal Shampoo and their Luxury Remoisturizer (conditioner)
These are concentrated and can be diluted, I use 2/3 cup to a gallon of water, or you could use 1 oz to 16 oz to make smaller amounts. They smell great, but, not heavy and will not dry out skin or coat. Note: any shampoo will kill fleas if left on the dog for 10 mins. or more.Do you recommend any particular brand of shampoo and conditioner for long haired dog coat?
First you need to clean up after her so she isn't ';playing with her poo'; . This is extremely unhealthy. Second there are a number of high quality professional shampoos available and while the bottle may cost more you use less so in the long run they cost less. You can order these at http://www.petedge.com .
Long haired dogs i find wash well in wool wash,it smells nice ,keeps the fleas at bay and helps with dry skin irratations
First off, if you pick up and dispose of the poop when she goes, she will not have the opportunity to play with it. DUH!!! Secondly, use a shampoo and conditioner for dry hair, because if you are bathing her that frequently you are definitely removing any natural oil from her coat and drying out the hair and the skin.
