While you may not want to, you need to cut those split ends off. If you really can not part with 3-4 fingers worth of hair, try cutting just SOME of the split ends off for now. As for the shampoo and conditioners, there are really no shampoos and conditioners that repair split ends and frizz. It's all about trial and error and while it may take a long time, it is all worth it in the end. Try oil and shine serums to keep frizz and split ends at bay, and Soft-sheen Carson products are great for hydrating dry hair. For now, i recommend that you not dye your hair as this will dry it out more and cause more split ends.
This is my advice:

This comes from the most fantastic website ever, The Long Hair Community. I suggest you join it, then browse around their forum to find fantastic tips from actual people who have actually tried them.

1. Cut your split ends. They're doing nothing by being there but making your hair look terrible. It will grow. You cannot repair them. It's impossible, no matter how much you spend.

2. Use a silicon free conditioner and a shampoo that is sodium-laurelth-sulfate free. These things dry out your hair, making it seem like you need to use more conditioner and products, and then you buy more, making the shampoo people rich.

Suave Naturals and VO5 make Silicon free shampoos. Use them. I use the shampoo too, which is not SLS free, but I'm ok with that. If you want SLS free try Trader Joe's all natural shampoo.

3. Use a seemless bone comb to detangle and brush your hair. DO NOT use a plastic brush with nubbies on it. It will break your hair and give you frizzies and fly aways.

4. Oil your dry hair every day. Go to the 'ethnic hair' section at walmart, or whever you buy your product. Look at the hair oils. Pick one you like. I love the olive oil that comes in a tub (ps don't use regular liquid olive oil. it's not meant for hair), some people like other stuff. Put a VERY small amount on the tip of your finger, rub it around to create a sheen on your palms...then run through your DRY hair that is NOT near the scalp, so the hair that is past your neck.

5. Once you have gotten rid of your split ends, use a natural boar bristle brush to brush your DRY hair to distribute your natural scalp oils. Don't use it on wet or damaged hair. It will ruin it even more.

Hope that helps :) I've noticed a HUGE difference in the thickness and dryness of my hair in the 2 weeks I've been doing this...good luck! :)
