Why are conditioner bottles always smaller than the shampoo?

Mine are the same size, but I always run out of conditioner way before shampoo. Conditioners should be larger! Why are conditioner bottles always smaller than the shampoo?
It's just another Big Business Jedi Mind Trick, you know, like how they package hot-dog buns ten or twelve at a time even though there's only *eight* hot dogs in a single package of them?

The idea is that it gets you to thinking about the size difference, maybe even calculating *least common denominators*, trying to figure out how to make both sides match up....

Meaning either you *buy more* until you have equal amounts, or you give up and just make multiple shopping trips and *buy more stuff* as a consequence. Either way, the keywords are ';Buy More';, right? It's just one more way they have of legally *mugging you*. o_o

*This*, aside from convenience, is one of the reasons why I use a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner in the same freaking bottle! ^_^ *lol* Screw the mind trick, *I'll find a way to BUY LESS, thank you!* And it also keeps one more *hunk-o-plastic* out of the landfills, you know?

Just saying. ^_^ Fight the power! Why are conditioner bottles always smaller than the shampoo?
Maybe because the shampoo bottles recommend you shampoo, rinse, repeat (shampooing twice). And the conditioner bottles recommend conditioning only once thus making you use twice as much shampoo as conditioner.

I buy Nexxus, the shampoo bottles are bigger than the conditioner bottles. I never really noticed. I guess cheaper brands make the same size in both, then just run out of shampoo first...?
because most people dont use as much conditioner as shampoo. you really need to only put conditioner on the ends of the hair, from about the middle of the hair down. your hair should be in good condition at the root area. it can really weigh your hair down and make it not style right if you use to much conditioner.
I remember it used to be like that a lot but it seems now most are the same size as the shampoo but I think they should make it bigger because anyone that uses conditioner would use more of it than they use shampoo. And I agree with the guy that said that the bottles should dispense from the bottom b/c I also hate trying to get that last bit out.
i don't know!! but one thing that pisses me off is that most bottles don't come with the lid in a fashion that you can place down on it. I hate that the shampoo/conditioner cuts stuck at the top when its nearly empty and it takes forever for it to come out, it should just be standard for the bottom of the bottle be the lid! /rant
it always says that they're equal sizes, but i don't know. if you're like me you use a lot more conditioner than shampoo, that could be the issue here. lol, i always use two bottles of conditioner for every shampoo bottle. (like the same size) :]
I've always had them the same size, so I'm not sure which brand you use or why it does that. Perhaps they expect you to condition less, which is odd since it is actually more damaging to your hair to over shampoo than to over condition.
You normally shampoo your hair every day i do twice a day morning night and use condition every other day that's what I do if i condition it every day it feels weird and slick

Best of Luck

no... the conditioner are always larger than the shampoo, b.c you use more conditioner than shampoo.

[i dont know what shampoo and conditioner you are using]
mine is equal

but i think it's because conditioner is an option

or like shampoo is the main dish, and then conditioner is the side dish
im assuming that it is because most companies think that it takes more shampoo than conditioner..

you gotta wash the icky outta your hair before you can condition it.
i dunno why! it really irritates me, as i seem to need more conditioner than shampoo whenever i wash my hair. i ALWAYS run out of conditioner before shampoo.
conditioners are smaller because they are more concentrated in nature and not every person opts to use conditioner after shampoo.
Because shampoo companies know that women tend to use more conditioner than shampoo therefore they provide smaller bottles so you buy more. Scam artists
Because you are only supposed to use about 1/3 the amount of conditioner as you do shampoo.
Costs more, so instead of charging a bunch more, they keep the costs nearly the same and just adjust the size of the container.
i never noticed they were smaller but i do always seem to run out of conditioner before shampoo.. it makes me sort of angry lol
It depends on the concentration. If it's concentrated conditioner it will be smaller.
your not suppose to use alot of conditioner or else your hair will get greasy. thats the dumb logic behind it anyway.
its a buisness thing they make it smaller since most people use more conditioner so you have to buy more it just gets them more money
they aren't. conditioner just runs out faster because it's thicker, so they can't fit as much into the bottle
Yes i know tell me about it. i have very long hair and use more conditioner than shampoo.. that's you buy the bigger bottle
I think it's because you don't need to use so much conditioner as you do shampoo.
you shouldnt use as much
the ratio to healthy shampooing and conditioning is 3:2, respectively. LOL, idk
Because you use less conditioner...
Just a thought.

You are supposed to use more shampoo than conditioner in each use.
never noticed that..
because they have more thick consistency?
lol for reals! i use much more conditioner since i live in co!
